text_orientation_phone=&#8221;left&#8221; text_orientation_last_edited=&#8221;on|tablet&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong> As a National Public Entity tasked to oversee the orderly export of perishable produce, the PPECB plays a crucial role in creating confidence in South African perishable produce and has been doing so for nearly 100 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the year under review, the organisation continued to drive its digital transformation strategy and delivered on two of its biggest projects in recent years. The recently introduced Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) and Human Capital Suite replaced legacy systems that will see the creation of further process efficiencies to ultimately deliver a better service to customers. This financial year was no different, with employees going beyond the call of duty to assist and provide support to clients to navigate challenges. While logistical challenges were less than in the previous year, they are certainly not behind us. The ageing port equipment and infrastructure remain a concern, though this was largely mitigated by close collaboration between port terminal operators and stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The sector has also experienced mid-summer droughts, which negatively impacted product volumes available for exports.<\/p>\n<p>The PPECB\u2019s mobile application, TITAN 2.0\u00ae continues to expand. During this financial year, container inspections and the issuance of electronic consignment reports were added as new modules to the platform. TITAN 2.0\u00ae also fully integrates with eCert\u2019s Tracking Unit Manager (TUM) version 3.<\/p>\n<p>I am pleased to report that the PPECB achieved a 90% customer satisfaction rating during its annual Customer Satisfaction Survey. Guided by one of its strategic focus areas, the organisation trained 839 smallholder farmers and certified 134 as export-ready. The Women in Leadership Programme also saw six women graduate, now equipped with skills to further excel in their careers.<\/p>\n<p>External community development initiatives have supported over 8000 beneficiaries nationwide through various programmes.<\/p>\n<p>During the year under review, the PPECB reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness and reporting on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters. The organisation has, therefore, invested in various courses, mainly aligned with its digital transformation and leadership development strategies.
